"This book is about the anti-capitalist economy and organization of social relations in the revolution and struggles for autonomy in Rojava (Kurdistan-Syria). It raises questions about the historical limitations, problems of the revolution and the conflicts and contradictions that have arisen in this process. Azize Aslan provides proposes an intellectual, self-critical and organizational transformation of the Kurdish movement towards the adoption of democratic autonomy that constitutes the struggle for social emancipation. She provides a historical background to the creation of the Rojava revolution, and discusses autonomy as a way of building the revolution, providing glimpes into the contradictions and conflicts that arise in the process.
